Greeks Highlight the Return of HBCU Football to the Stadium

First Coast National Pan Hellenic Council (FCNPHC) partnered with the City of Jacksonville, fraternity and sorority chapters for the Jackson State University versus Bethune Cookman-College football game weekend activities. The two Historical Black Colleges and University’s (HBCU) played inside TIAA Bank field where Jacksonville State University (JSU) state won (48) to Bethune-Cookman College (8) points. More than 20K fans and alumni attended the game tailgating, fellowshipping and perusing vendor booths for HBCU paraphernalia.  The FCNPHC HBCU Village was energetic with college recruiters, speakers and importance of voting tents. BCC football practice was halted due to upgrading its current football practice field.  For months BCC has practiced at Edward Waters University for their on the field strategic moves. Creating a HBCU fan experience, the city brought the two teams two together for a day of HBCU legacy.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC) is currently composed of nine (9) International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.
